Term 2 Project - Regular/AP Statistics
Project Details
For the term 2 project, students will be required to provide question corrections for wrong answers to problems either as test, HW, or an in-class assignment.
A. Each project is mandatory for all students. All individual projects, no group work.
B. Each student must review and fix 20 questions answered incorrectly that have been completed on STATS4STEM. If you click on the assignment report, then hover your cursor over any question number, you will be able to see the question.
C. Each student must complete at least 2 questions for each of the following topics. In other words, you must complete at least 2 questions per topic, but some topics you will complete more than 2 questions to arrive at 20 questions. The topics are listed below:
1. Describing data with statistics and graphics (mean, median, IQR, boxplots, histograms, ogive, etc.)
2. Normal Distribution
3. Linear Regression
4. Probability
5. Random Variables (density curves, adding and subtracting distributions, discrete random variables)
6. Binomial and geometric distributions
7. Sampling Distributions for means and proportions
8. Confidence Intervals (AP Only)
D. For each question, write out the complete question, and for numeric questions, provide the correct solution and also clearly show how you would obtain the correct solution. Just answers alone, with 0 work, will be given 0 credit. For non-numeric questions you can't see all possible solutions, so explain why your answer is incorrect.
E. Pass all work in on Monday in paper form (i.e. don't do this on google docs or any other electronic form). However, you can write out the questions on a google doc if you want, and then print it out and use the space between the question to show your math work - and then pass that in. If you are not here Monday due to field trip or illness, make sure to pass in as soon as you return back to school.
F. Make sure you provide both your name, course name (AP Stats or Regular Stats), and section number for AP Statistics students.
